If you have found my website, then you love to garden. You may have come from another state or region and wonder how to transfer your skills to a dry, hot climate. You may have grown up in this environment but you need more information to improve your success. This is the site for you!
The sense of accomplishment, the time spent in the garden makes me feel more grounded, more connected to the earth and I hope to encourage you to feel the same way. As I harvest from my garden, I know that I am giving back to the earth as my soil improves and to my friends and family as we all eat healthier, organically grown foods.
I also thrive on working with community members so they too can enjoy the thrill and the advantages of growing their own food. I am a Maricopa County Master Gardener through the University of Arizona Agricultural Extension, a Certified Agriscape Designer (elegant edible landscape design) and a Smartscape Irrigation Design graduate.
I live in the Sonoran Desert in Queen Creek, AZ, just outside Phoenix, on a fifth of an acre where I have a small orchard and grow as much of my own food as I can.
I hope you become a subscriber to my blog and leave questions and comments. I will try to respond in a timely manner. If I don’t know the answers, I will find the answers or connect you to an expert who can help you. You can contact me privately through my contact page if you like.
Remember: “The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul.” – Alfred Austin
